Superstition Mountains of Arizona.....

The superstition Mountain Range in Central Arizona is filled with legends. One of these is about the richest gold mine in the world that is hidden here. it is so rich in fact, that it is believed that nuggets of Gold will fall if you just tap the walls of the mine!

Jacob Waltz, known as the Dutchman', made this mine famous. The Dutchman was actually a German miner who dedicated much of his life to searching the Superstition Mountains for gold. Apparently, he found quite a load, and he just walked into the nearest town with quantities of rich gold ore. He finally took the secret of his mine to the grave in 1891. But even today, treasure hunters went through the mountains searching for 'lost Dutchman Mine.'
Similarly, a man called John Marshall found a piece of gold in a California river on 1848. The news of his discovery sent people from all over the world rushing to California to search for gold, and this became known as 'the California Gold Rush'.
